Tragedy.

On Saturday three people were killed that live in Mexico, and all three had ties to the US Consulate in Ciudad Juarez.  We are deeply saddened by this loss.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the loss of our fellow Consulate families.
I know that many of our family and friends are worried.  Right now we are fine, and we do not have plans to leave. The violence in Tijuana is less than it is in the eastern part of Mexico.  We aware of the reality of where we are living and the potential danger we face.  We are also aware that things change quickly when it comes to the type of violence that we are seeing in Mexico.  Safety is first in our minds, and we will not put ourselves in danger.
This experience has made us truly grateful for our lives and our families.

living in California is pretty foreign to some of us too!! it is an option, but really - I love you and will pray for Mexico and for change to come for the whole country.

I found your blog through A daring adventure post...Just wanted to say that I understand where you are coming from. We are in Monterrey and are staying put, as the violence has not picked up around here. We have a great friend at your consulate also...Sarah G.

Stay safe!!
