I LOVE THERAPY! I'm not kidding. It is the greatest thing since I discovered Godiva Crème Brulèe chocolates.
1. I get to talk about Me for an entire hour. Me, the relationships I have with people, how everything revolves around Me. ME. ME. ME. It's all about me. Okay, that is a little (or a lot) egocentric, I should talk to my therapist about that.
2. I have learned a lot about myself, and think that as soon as I am done with therapy I am pretty much going to be perfect. I have already discovered so much about myself, for instance, did you know that it is bad to be controlling? Apparently it leads to stress. I guess I need to work on that one. Also, did you know that kids will learn to respond to situations the way a parent does? I guess I need to work on that one too since there have been a few times that I have lost my voice. Yikes, is that too much information? Maybe an over share? Probably. I should talk to my therapist about that too.
3. Good news, my therapist told me that leaving the shopping cart at the grocery store does not classify me as crazy.
More seriously, it has been great. I have changed a few things already, which have made a HUGE difference. It has been great, and life has been a lot better.
I have found hope.

That's great! And who doesn't need for discussions to be all about them every once in a while?
yeah! I'm glad your happy and getting some things figured out! love you tons!
Woo HOo!!! Way to do something for yourself!
Now about the chocolate creme brulee...where do I find that? :)
Love it! I love that you get to spend all by yourself, away from 2 little boys, to really focus on you and what you need. Isn't it great to have time away from all responsibility for a while to clear your head before life comes rushing back at you?
I think everone should get atleast 3 sessions just to decide for themselves if they love it. I personally loved it when I was going, so nice to have one help you sort out your own personal thoughts and actions - the good and the bad. Enjoy!
I'm so happy for you. and a little jealous...
I wish that therapy was just part of life for all of us starting around age 8 or so. Really I do! Everyone needs a place to vent their feelings and be listened to and we could all use a third party NEUTRAL person to bounce those feelings off.
Thanks for sharing!
That's fantastic! Even better when you find a therapist who you really click with!
I recently spoke with my aunt, and she mentioned off-hand that when her two girls were young, she left a full shopping cart in the store on at least one occasion - just goes to show you're not the only one! She went on to become an elected official :)
