It was fantastic to see my sister and her family. The kids and I were able to meet Andres, the newest member of their family, but the hours together were filled with crying, whining, frustrations, lack of sleep, and short tempers. Although my sister and I were glad to see each other, it might be awhile before our families get together again.
I realize that it is not anyone's fault; it is just a matter of our situations, and the age of the kids. It made me really grateful that my kids will keep getting older, that there are only two of them, and when Ben and I are together, we are not out-numbered. There is a lot to be said for that.

LOL.
and someday they will be old enough to go play in the other room quietly without worrying what they are up to! Then you can enjoy hanging out with your sister even with the kids around.
Totally agree with melissa! But also totally understand that when you know you're done ... you just know!
Adorable sister - adorable families. So glad you were able to spend some time together - a luxury indeed!
you two sure look alike!
I learned after our first vacation w/ baby #1 that vacation is not really the same once you have kids...and it's important to take both kid vacations (aka family time) and non-kid vacations! hope you can fit one of those in soon.
I am glad that you were able to see Jodie and her family. I am very grateful that for right now, Erin can just be the awesome Auntie "N" that she is, and we don't have any added drama from additional people. The kids and I love getting together with her. We will see if that all changes when she has a family of her own. LOL
take a cruise. Thay have a whole family deal where the kids get to go to camp all day while you relax:)
I always make promises that I'll never put myself in these similar types of situations 'cause you'd already learned your lesson the hard way, but of course you just can't resist.
I'm sure if you and Jodie had the opportunity to visit again next week...
... you would, in a heart beat.
GLAD you had a nice visit!
