I don't like to clean. I am the first to admit it, and Ben will be the second to admit my shortcoming.
It doesn't upset me to see toys out and about, or my clothes piled on top of my dresser. I am good at picking up food messes, or drink spills, so at least I have that going for me. However, breakfast dishes are often out at lunch, and depending on the day, they are still out at dinner. Now I know that some people might understand, and others are throwing up in their mouths, and think that I am strange. Well I think it is strange to like to clean (although I certainly don't judge, or hold it against anyone).
I have a lot of excuses, but here is one. I like to go places with the boys, and they are often at their best before lunch. That leaves us only a few precious hours to go out and enjoy the day. Rather than spend that time cleaning up, we head out the door and make the most of our day. Then when we get home, I am more up for cleaning, but not always. Anyway, cleaning is not my first priority, nor usually my second, but it eventually gets done (even if it is Ben that initiates it).
Anyway, our little family has a lot going for it, but a perfectly clean house is not one of them. As long as you understand that, you are welcome to come over. If not, let's meet at the park, or at your house. Or you can avoid eye contact so the issue never comes up. **
Here are some pictures (I have spared you a picture of my sink- your welcome).
**We do clean up before we have guests, in case you were a little concerned.

Oh, thank goodness. I thought we were the only ones! LOVE the Lego mess, looks like our living room...and kitchen...and car...and and and
Hey! In 10 more days we will be in those apartments with our toys spread out all over the place too! My favorite part of the picture is the upside-down bowl of food. Why oh why do kids have to turn the bowl upside down to tell us that they are finished?!?
I love it! My house is always cluttered! It just doesn't seem worth my time to pick everthing up every day, just to have the place destroyed ten minutes later. If we have company coming over I pick up literally right before they come, otherwise it is pointless. We try to pick up before Daddy comes home, but again sometimes it only last moments! That is why my kids are always posed by the front door for pictures. It is the cleanest place in our whole house because we use the garage door! LOL
hey, at least you look great in the first picture :) and the second :)
What a wonderful house! It looks like you live there and enjoy it. That's what it should look like-- even if you do clean up for guests and for sanitation's sake. :) Here here!
Thank you for being normal! :) And for not being afraid to blog about being normal :)
I love it!! I love, love a clean house, so it is hard for me to watch my kids make a mess without going crazy, which is not always a good thing! I am working on letting my house be messier and enjoying time with my kids more. So, I think you've got an awesome perspective! Also, wish we were in NJ to see you when you go there to visit! Enjoy!!
I think many of us can confess, not some many as brave as you to post pictures :)
