I noticed the white hairs in his goatee, and knew he was older.

One year older and wiser too, happy birthday to you!  Yesterday was Ben's birthday!  He was able to celebrate the way he wanted to-a nice evening at home with pizza and cookies.  Then he went online and ordered his birthday presents.  It was a great birthday. 

It is really lucky for me that Ben doesn't like cake.  It makes my life easier and just gives me one more reason that we are definitely  M.F.E.O. (Made For Each Other)
