The miracle of Christmas.

Another Christmas is over! I have to admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of the holiday season this year. I had a really hard time getting into the Christmas spirit. I tried so hard to find ways to serve, and I failed miserably. I made cupcakes for my neighbors, but they were inedible, so they will never know I was thinking of them. Then I tried to think of different ways to help my family think more of the Savior, but it was tough with a two year old that has the attention span of a Toys R Us commercial, so that didn’t go as well as I planned. I got frustrated and gave up, which went against everything I was trying to accomplish. Then we had a test run of our photo shoot for our holiday card, and that was such an ordeal, that we decided to cancel the appointment and used the pictures we took here at home. I just kept waiting for the moment that I would feel the spirit of Christmas, and it never happened. I was either trying to hard or not trying enough.

Then today everything changed.  I watched Jack’s face as he opened his presents. I watched Thomas laugh at his brother making faces at him. I talked to my family far away. I listened to Ben explain the Nativity story to Jack and tell him that it was because of Jesus that we could be a family forever. I listened and felt the love of our Savior. It was in my family. It was in my friends who are always there for me. It was everywhere.

Merry Christmas!

I'm glad you had a nice Christmas with your wonderful little family. I feel like I finally got into the season and now it's over. We might extend things just for a couple days because it's been so nice.

I am glad that you found your "christmas magic moment" this year, mine are never thru the whole season either, just every now and then I have a glimpse of what it is all about!! Love you!

What a lovely Christmas you had! That is hilarious you guys didn't really want to go to the lights after all, either! I'm glad we did but we decided next time we won't go ON Christmas Day.

I had made a nursing cover for you and wasn't able to get it to you. Funny story is that I sewed it with the wrong side of the fabric facing out. So embarrassing but overall it's still cute. We'll plan to get together again soon and I'll get it to you.

I am glad you were able to enjoy the Day and feel the spirit. I love celebrating the birth of our savior...the presents are just a bonus. :)

Ditto. Seriously, that's exactly how I have felt.
