Welcome to Tijuana. Day One.

During my sojourn from the internet, I kept a journal of the activites of our first week here in Tijuana. We arrived in Tijuana February 20th, and that is where our adventure begins...

First, I have to brag. Today on the last flight of this never ending journey to our new home in Mexico, Jack and Thomas slept the entire time! Thomas fell asleep before we reached our cruising altitude and Jack fell asleep about two minutes later. I was in every travelling parent’s heaven.
We crossed the border around 10:15 am. It was rather uneventful and the transition rather unnoticed by me because our precious Thomas was screaming (as per usual in the car) and I was having a hard time concentrating on anything else.
We arrived at our house by 10:30. (In case of emergency, I am fully confident we will be able to run across the border.) I LOVE our new house! It is amazing; we have a laundry room, dishwasher, backyard, walk-in closets, and a lot of windows. The boys are having a great time exploring all of the new spaces to play.
After lunch and naps we headed to the grocery store. The people were very friendly, the store was clean, and we were able to find our favorite brands of most of the food we bought.
We had our traditional pizza dinner for our first night in a new house, and it was delicious.
Things are looking pretty good so far. I think we are really going to enjoy our house. However, I must admit, I am a little nervous about driving here. Common laws are regularly ignored and things look pretty chaotic. I am also a little unsure about how the whole speaking Spanish thing is going to go. My Spanish I vocab ended about 0.5 seconds after I heard my first person talking. It is going to be interesting.

Driving is definitely going to take some getting used to. Just think offense and defense. And look straight ahead to ignore the street vendors. And remember you are brave and you can do it!!

Yes you made it! I kept an eye on the weather the day your flight left and saw the snow heading straight towards Atlanta. Thank goodness everything worked out. Traveling with kiddos is always an adventure!
