Relationship to Patient? Mom.

I remember the first time I filled out forms for Jack at the doctor's office, I put my name as patient name.  When it said relationship to patient, I realized as I wrote Mom next to my name, that this kid was mine.  I would be filling out this type of paper work a lot in his life, and this was the first.  I was his mother.  We were stuck.
Today it didn't seem like such a big deal to fill out the papers, but I feel more like a mom today than I did almost three years ago.  Jack is mine.  Thomas is mine.  I am so lucky to be their mom.
Especially today.  Jack and Thomas were awesome today.  We spent four hours between the doctor's office and the radiology department at the children's hospital, and they were amazing.  No breakdowns, no tears, not even one complaint.  Absolutely the best kids in the world today.
If you are worried at this point.  Don't be.  Everything should be fine.  A few weeks ago, Jack stepped on some glass, and it looks like there might be a piece still stuck in the bottom of his foot.  He had to get x-rays taken to see if they need to take it out, and if they do, how they are going to take it out.  The doctor is supposed to call tomorrow to let us know.
Another reason I am grateful we can cross the border to San Diego.  Medical care.

Wow you must be proud of your boys for being so good! That is an amazing accomplishment. I realize the same thing myself - how diffent it is to be Van's Mom, Rowan's Mom. We waited our whole lives for this, always wanted to know about our future kids. Being a Mom is better than I expected it to be.

Oh, EMILY.

I totally understand. My 16 yr old son has been a daredevil since, literally, birth. He has fractured:

thumb
finger
clavicle (shoulder)
pelvis
arm
coccyx (tailbone)

All at different times/in different years! Yes, for real. And this isn't including the multiple surgeries he's had on toes (from damaging toenails while playing sports), etc.

My other son has had plastic surgery on his little face to repair accidents (normal life), emergency surgery on his mouth...

Girl, motherhood of little boys comes with lots of emergency room visits... or at least it has for us. So I am so thrilled for you that you can cross the border to San Diego. What a huge weight off your shoulders.

Blessings to you all... having little boys is a medical adventure!

I am so glad that you can drive across the border for that too. I hope everything will go as smooth as possible.
