Day three: Welcome to Your New New Home!

I think I have mentioned it before, but the drive home from the airport is what I anticipate the most when moving anywhere. Unfortunately this particular ride was spent trying to keep Jack and myself from getting sick. I was CARSICK, in fact, for the first time in my life (that I can remember). I took a few pictures before resigning to breathing and concentrating on NOT throwing up. Jack was also sick, so we moved him near the front of the car, and he did much better.

The drive was miserable, but as soon as we saw our house, things were so much better! Our house is awesome, and we even have a guest bedroom/suite. Yes my friends, if you come visit us there is luxuriousness waiting for you.

We have a great sponsor, and feel welcomed by those we have met so far.

It was not all good though, I saw a wormy thing in the toilet, starting my fear of snakes crawling up through the toilet and biting my bum. I was feeling completely overwhelmed, asked Ben what we were doing, and wondered why I was so excited to get to Sri Lanka. Then I realized that I had not slept for a LONG time, and hadn't eaten very well. I took a little nap, ate a sandwich and a little more capable of dealing with life.

We went for a walk, and saw a little bit of our neighborhood, went to then store and saw that they sell Chocos (a cereal that reminds me of my family, but especially my sister, Jodie), and still felt a little overwhelmed, but I was no longer regretting our decision.

We forced the boys to stay up until seven, and we stayed up until eight. The entire family slept in until eleven. Yes, my friends, eleven a.m. I have not slept in that late since I before I had children. It was amazing, in fact, we had to wake the boys up.

Which takes us to our first full day in Colombo.

I'm glad you were able to all get some good sleep - that probably felt great! And I am so jealous that you get to have Chocos!! Mmm... I'll probably dream about them tonight. I hope it just keeps getting better.
