A good man and some eggs.

We take Tuk-tuks nearly everywhere we go. When we leave our house, we are lucky that there are several that wait at the end of our street, so we don't have to wait to find one. There is one driver that I particularly like.

Once, he picked us up and drove us to church, the next time he drove us, he showed us his church. This week, he took me to drop Thomas off, and I asked him to wait for me to take me on some errands. Instead of being a half an hour, I was closer to an hour. When he dropped me off, I offered him a certain amount of money, to which he said no, and told me to pay him less. This was baffling. Seriously. I was so excited, and my faith in humanity restored. Then today he took me to drop off Thomas, and brought me home. When we got back to his "corner", he explained that the store we were parked in front of was his, as well as the chickens and dogs running around. Then he took me and introduced me to his wife and son, and showed me all of the chickens. It was awesome to see this man and his family. As I was leaving, he gave me a bag of fresh eggs to take with me.

I am so grateful for opportunities like this, and to meet wonderful people that are honest and generous.

It's moments like those ones that make all the other hard days seem worthwhile. Time to make a quiche?!

It's so refreshing to meet people like that when most of the other people you meet try to take advantage of you because you look like and you are a foreigner.
