This is something new.

I knew that there were places that did not have a "true" winter, but I have never experienced a November like this.  I am happy.
I am so grateful for the weather.
Seriously.  Living in some of the coldest most snowy places, I have been dreaming about not having a twinter since I can remember.

*Note to Ben:  Please don't make me go back to winter.  I like it warm.  Don't make me go back, ever.

Blizzard 2009

We had 16.4 inches of snow fall in one day.  It was crazy, it completely paralized the DC area.  We loved it-we stayed inside, sipped hot chocolate and made mini snowmen on our porch.
It is going to be the first white Christmas in the DC area in 20 years.
{White Christmas is defined as at least one inch of snow on the ground.}

Snow. Snow. Snow.

We welcomed snow to Northern Virginia yesterday.   It was beautiful.  Normally I am not a big fan of snow, but somehow knowing that next year will be spent in warm wather made things more enjoyable.
{We tried to get Jack into the picture, but he DID NOT want to be cold.}

Winter

One Saturday night, I really felt the desire to go for a walk. It had been a cold and snowy day, we had not left the house, and we were all going a little stir crazy. It took some convincing, but soon the entire family was bundled up and out the door. It was great. Jack loved being outside in his stroller, and I loved being out. We walked to the little market and got some treats, and walked home. It was freezing, but it was a good time. I really don't like the winter, but I have decided that if our little family is going to move somewhere warm, I need to embrace the cold. I am going to love the winter.

So much FUN!!!

HOLIDAY FUN!!!

BEN'S HOLIDAY WORK PARTY

This is Jack's friend, Harmony. Just a few seconds before this picture was taken, they saw each other across the hallway and ran towards each other, but when they met, they didn't know what to do, and this was what we got a picture of. It was adorable.

The kids were able to be "locked up" in the holding cell at Ben's office. We could have had fingerprints taken, but we opted out of that one.

A little scared, actually, a lot scared.

The Santa at Ben's office party gave all the kids a badge. Although, it didn't help Jack feel any better about the situation.

The weather was terrible the day of Ben's work party. We received eight inches here on Friday and it continued through the weekend. It looks like we are going to have a white Christmas!!
