NOT squat proof. Organized desk. And Prayers. How’s that for a Monday?

Happy Monday. Do you see these leggings? They are really cute; I have worn them before, and loved them. But today. Today was leg day. And I have never worn them on leg day. And these leggings are NOT squat proof. Really. I thought that it was just the white underneath the leggings showing through. And that might be the case, but it looked really close to skin color. So every time I went to do a squat, I was very aware of anyone behind me. I’m just saying. Today was all about the squats, deadlifts and you guys. I thought I was going to die. No one wants to see that. No one wants to be the one wearing the see-through leggings.
So that’s how my Monday started. It did get significantly better than that. Don’t worry.

Do you see this? I am so proud of this. I have worked on clearing off my desk, and creating a place that I actually want to spend time. I’m still working on what I am going to put on the walls, but if you saw my desk a few months ago, you’d be impressed. Also, see those drawers? I put it together by myself. Sometimes after Ben has been home awhile, and he takes care of a lot of the manual labor around the house, I forget that I can do it. I forget that I am quite capable of putting IKEA furniture together, or cleaning the kitchen. Or pretty much anything. Although, he did switch out an electrical outlet the other day, I think I would have had to YouTube it. But you know I could probably figure it out.

Happy Monday everyone. I hope that everyone is having a good day.

Also, in case anyone is wondering, Ben is safe. Still gone, but doing well. Let’s just pray that it stays that way. Seriously. Whether you pray or send out good vibes, or whatever let’s hope for the best in the world.

Oh and one more thing, can we talk fires in Australia? We need prayers there too!

Anyone else?We can start a prayer roll, and we can add you to our prayers. I’m certainly willing to offer a prayer for you.

Slightly embarrassed, but not deterred.

I took some pictures of our house, with all of the newly hung pictures on the walls.  I was so excited to show all of you my house with everything where it should be.  Then I looked at the pictures, and I was suddenly aware of how WHITE the walls are.  The truth is, I don't mind white walls.  I think the house looks great, and I absolutely love it.  However, in the little snippets that I have, it doesn't translate into what I feel when I look at it.

The same goes for my brilliant use of the fabric that I once thought could be a cute skirt (with box pleats and cute pockets and everything-here is what it was supposed to look like.).  When I came up with the idea of using the fabric for another purpose, I thought it was brilliant, then as time went on, and Ben had no idea what it was supposed to be, and it just doesn't look that great.  I will even show you that.

Here are the pictures.  I am slightly embarrassed by the lack of decorations, and the blank walls, but nonetheless, I give you our house:

The guest room, now known as the Russian Room.
There are actually more pictures on the walls, but I couldn't fit it in.

The guest room sitting area.  Also known as the Paris room.

The fancy sitting area.  (As in, we don't use it very often.)

The hallway up the stairs.  I must say, I added this, because I painted each of these frames.
I don't know if you can tell, but we are holding signs that spell out LOVE.  Cute, huh?

 The Hallway.
I really like this arrangement of pictures.  The writing on the one print is a scripture from the Book of Mormon found in 2 Nephi 25:26

This is the everyday room.  Toys, TVs, phones, really awesome air conditioner.  You know.  The room we spend most of our time in.

Last but not least, the skirt turned decoration, that even now, I really don't think it is that great, but I feel at a loss for the unused fabric.
It is supposed to be an American Flag-type.  I am not offended if you don't see it right away, Ben didn't.  Once he did, he said that it was "umm...well...neat".

Maybe I could make this frame could be a holiday frame, and I could change the fabric out to make it go with whatever holiday.  This red fabric can go for at least three.  (4th of July, Christmas, and of course Valentine's Day.)
Or I could just give up, and save the frame for something else.

There you have it friends.  I posted pictures of our house and decorations, even though, it is kind of sparse.  I guess the thing is, I don't mind the white walls, and everything hanging on the walls makes it feel like home.  I just wish my house could be more decorated.  You know, like a magazine or pinterest.  How all the cool kids do it.

Mysteries of the house.

We love our new house. It is spacious and comfortable, however there are some things we wonder about.

1. Which light switch?  Yeah, these light switches control lights ALL over the house.  I need a label maker.

2. Why is the lock of the outside of this door? I found out about this when Thomas and I were doing the laundry, and he locked us in. Ben and Jack were out of the house and we found ourselves in here for about a half an hour. It wouldn't be so bad, but this particular room does not have an air conditioner. I had done a few loads of laundry, which made this small room quite hot. I started pounding on the door as soon as I heard the chime of the alarm, so relieved that Ben heard us right away.

3. What to do with the "rock garden"? It definitely needs something, but I can't decide. Paper lanterns? Lights? Some sort of mobile hanging from the top?  Branches in the large stone structure in the middle?

Tijuana. Day Three. Welcome to Our Home.

Welcome to our home.  It is big.  One of the good things about working overseas is that housing is provided for us.  There is no way we would be able to afford this in real life, so we are going to enjoy the spoils of government service while we can.
